Inaugural Tournaments and First Shows
Many of you have already seen the sign-ups for the tournaments to crown the inaugural HWL championships. If you want to have a chance to be the first one to win a title, you have to be signed up by the evening of Friday, June 21, when I will announce the brackets and the card for the first weekly show.
The current plan is for all four of the inaugural champions in each division to be crowned on our first major show at the end of the month. The tentative date for that is Saturday, July 27, but may change between now and then.
So, if you want to have a chance at a title or to play yourself into a guaranteed spot on the first major show (which scores higher than the weekly shows), you need to be signed up for the tournaments ASAP. Remember, a title win on a major show is worth 50,000 dollar-points toward your season total. Plus, holding the title allows you a greater opportunity to rack up more points (i.e. play money).
